About Horseshoe Campground

Horseshoe Campground is eight miles west of Fairplay on County Road 18. It sits at 10,600 feet elevation along Horseshoe Creek, near a grassy meadow among aspen, Engelmann spruce and Bristlecone pines. Trees provide good privacy between campsites, which are located at the base of Sheep Mountain. The primitive campground is located near Mount Sherman, Lincoln, Bross and Democrat. Nearby [Limber Grove Trail](http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/psicc/recarea/?recid=12846), a short mountainside path winds through 1,000-year-old limber pine.
